1. Booking and Payment
To secure a skip, a deposit may be required at the time of booking. Full payment is due upon delivery of the skip.
- Payment methods accepted include cash, credit/debit cards, and electronic transfers.
- All prices are subject to VAT unless stated otherwise.
2. Delivery and Collection
We strive to deliver and collect skips within the agreed timeframe. However, delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Ensure the designated area is clear for skip placement.
- Access must be safe and free of obstructions.
2.1 Access and Safety
It's the customer's responsibility to provide safe access for delivery and collection. We are not liable for any accidents or damages incurred during the process.
3. Permitted and Prohibited Waste
Only specific types of waste are permitted in our skips. The disposal of prohibited items is strictly forbidden and may incur additional charges.
- Permitted Waste: General household waste, garden waste, construction debris.
- Prohibited Waste: Hazardous materials, asbestos, batteries, tires, and electronics.
3.1 Hazardous Waste
Any hazardous waste must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations. We reserve the right to refuse hazardous materials.
4. Liability and Insurance
We are insured against third-party claims arising from our operations. However, we are not liable for:
- Damage to property not directly caused by our services.
- Injuries sustained during skip placement or removal.
- Loss of personal belongings.
4.1 Customer Responsibility
Customers must ensure that no valuable or irreplaceable items are placed in the skip. We are not responsible for any loss or damage to items discarded.
5. Cancellation and Refunds
Bookings can be canceled or rescheduled subject to availability. Refunds may be issued based on the timing of the cancellation.
- Cancellations made 24 hours prior to delivery will receive a full refund.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before delivery may incur a cancellation fee.
5.1 Rescheduling
Rescheduling is subject to availability and may be accommodated free of charge or may incur additional costs.
6. Use of Skip and Site Conditions
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the skip is used appropriately and in compliance with local regulations.
- The skip must be placed on level ground.
- Avoid placing skips on public highways or footpaths without proper authorization.
- Ensure that the skip does not obstruct traffic or access for emergency services.
6.1 Environmental Considerations
Customers must adhere to environmental guidelines when disposing of waste. Illegal dumping or improper disposal practices are prohibited.
7. Indemnity
The customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Skip Hire Chigwell against any claims, damages, or expenses arising from the use of our services, except where caused by our negligence.
8. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
8.1 Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
9. Amendments
We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
10. Entire Agreement
These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between the customer and Skip Hire Chigwell, superseding any prior agreements or understandings.
